BattleBorne Entertainment suing Acclaim
BattleBorne Entertainment sues Acclaim for alleged breach of development agreement, release of Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers delayed.
Developer BattleBorne Entertainment announced that a preliminary injunction has been entered in its favor against Acclaim Entertainment by order of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Nassau. BattleBorne is suing Acclaim for allegedly breaching a development agreement by failing to make payments when due and for threatening to release BattleBorne's Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers prior to making all required payments. The preliminary injunction prevents Acclaim from shipping the game, which was previously scheduled for release on both the PlayStation 2 and Xbox later this month but was notably absent from a recent Acclaim release schedule, until the matter is settled.
Toward the end of the statement release, BattleBorne states that Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers "will be available soon for the next-generation video game systems at suggested retail prices to be determined." We'll bring you more information on this story as soon as it becomes available.
