Nintendo announces The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Bundle
Limited edition collector's disc to be packed in with GameCube hardware starting November 17.
Nintendo has announced a new compilation disc that will be bundled with the Nintendo GameCube for $99.99 beginning November 17. The disc, called The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Bundle, will contain four classic Zelda games in their entirety, as well as additional bonus material relating to the popular franchise. The games included will be the original 1987 NES classic, The Legend of Zelda, which first introduced Link, Ganon, and the world of Hyrule to gamers; Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, the 1988 NES sequel; The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the classic Nintendo 64 game which brought the franchise into 3D in 1998; and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, the 2000 follow up to Ocarina for the N64.
In addition to the four games, the disc will include a playable demo of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the latest installment in the series which was released earlier this year for the GameCube, highlight footage of gameplay from Wind Waker, and a retrospective history on The Legend of Zelda series.
While the disc will be bundled with the GameCube hardware and not sold separately, existing GameCube owners will still have an opportunity to get the disc in one of two ways. GameCube owners who register their GameCube and two of the following games: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Party 5, and 1080: Avalanche for the GameCube or Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance will be eligible to receive the disc. The second option is for existing GameCube owners to subscribe to or renew their subscriptions to Nintendo Power magazine. The final part of either option is to register with Nintendo's Web site.
The offer will only be available while supplies last.
