$60 Black Ops DLC bundle on the way - Retail Radar

Man, I hate Activision... I am not getting this the day its released. Probably eventually, but I cant stand all their crap, and its not just call of Duty, they wont even release a dang patch for Nascar 2011. Money-horing nerds.

lol I laugh at all of the people upset and/or mad over a video game. anyone who comments this news story has played the game and has liked it. but half of the commenters say they hate the game because they don't want to seem like they're in with the mainstream crowd. it's the same with music. so basically, there's a lot of fake hypocritical Gamespot members. I'll definitely admit to liking COD. I don't play it more than a few times a month though. but back to the main story, the package is a good deal for the few people that didn't play the game. and to all the commenters, we all know you preordered MW3 so stop complaining like butt hurt little kids about a video game. because you're secretly wet over just one thought about MW3 because you can't wait to play the game until the sun comes up and beyond that.

They want to charge as much as a NEW GAME for DLC?!!! And people will actually buy it, too. If this wasn't an idea from Kotick's demented brain I'd be surprised. And if you think he's not demented, have you seen that man smile? He looks like this :twisted: , except with $ in his eyes.

If you don't have to game DO NOT BUY IT. Really , just stick with MW2 till MW3 comes out if you're a fan. Trasharch ruined it.

Remember that game Battlefield:Bad Company 2? Remember when they realised, basically, people should get moneys worth and give an actual extra game for £15/$20 ? (Vietnam) I still don't like being charged, but £10.99 for a couple of maps DLC is a rip off. More like £4.99 would be more appropriate if anything. Shouldn't they give us a map creator tool in-game to make our own levels :P ? I think not! They'd charge hundreds for that, or a subscription service charge!

you know why i hate paying for DLC? because b4 the X360 they had DLC on the computer and you know what pc gaming companies gave it to you for free kind of as a way for saying thanks. TES:Morrowind for the pc had a ton of free dlc content then with the next game oblivion we get $5 horse armor thats why i hate DLC. now you get nickle and dime for something you use to get for free!!!!!!

@ SkamArtist I completely agree with you on the DLC thing. 90% of the time I'm taking heat for my dislike of it. Guess I finally realized I'm fighting a losing battle against content which should have been in the game being released as DLC, and now I take the stance that if they're going to screw people, at least let us offline gamers in on the abuse. LOL.

@Muteki_X Don't take my comment as saying that I agree with how companies distribute and market DLC. I hate the idea of buying a game for 60 bucks and then being almost forced to continue to buy DLC that probably should have been in the game in the first place. I understand that there are folks who do play offline. My argument is (and I could be wrong) that you and your friends are part of a minority of current gen console owners. Most people with these consoles are connected. These companies know that, which is why DLC is the way it is now. Yes it does benefit you as an offline gamer when a company releases the "complete edition". What rubs me the wrong way is why couldn't the game be complete in the first place.

@ SkamArtist I and many of my friends play offline and prefer it that way. There are plenty of us out there. Plus, it's pretty naive to assume that everyone has access to the internet or can even fit it into their budget. I bought a 360 day one and have enjoyed it thoroughly ever since without internet. I tried playing online for a few months and was just annoyed most of the time by glitchers, shouting kids, and adults throwing tantrums when they lost. If it wasn't for companies providing DLC content on disk, I never would have enjoyed GTA IV's TLAD or TBOGT. I've been gaming since I was six with my cousin's Atari and prefer a game system you plug into your TV, pop in a complete game, and enjoy with friends. I, like many, think it's pretty rotten for companies to lure you in with a physical disk, then discriminate against offline gamers by telling them they can't enjoy the additional content of that same game without an internet connection.

You actually only get the first DLC btw. Other games newsites reported this.

@ Muteki_X No offense, but who would purchase a PS3, or 360 without having an internet connection. That's about as bad as having a PC with no internet. These consoles are primed to be used online. The expectation is that you have an internet connection. The days of offline consoles are rapidly dying away, if not already dead. Don't be naive and think Activision really did this for the "offline gamers"

I think this is a good thing. It's a great opportunity for gamers with no internet connection to get the zombie packs. My respect for Activision actually went up for keeping offline gamers in mind. The few companies that actually do this still get my business, and I will be seeking them out more and more as digital distribution gains strength.

I have said this in other posts: Activision only does this b/c they can. For every person on here that says they won't buy it, ten times as many people will. Money talks, and apparently Activision likes what they hear. There needs to be a conscience movement by us gamers to speak up via our wallets! SMH....

Its really not that bad of a deal when you think about it, a retail copy of cod blops is still 60 bucks and used is 55. Over all your getting 30 bucks worth of dlc maybe more. But i do feel as if they are milking it a bit much

why haven't they released the WoW zombie maps for DLC in Black Ops yet.. Codes on eBay are selling for $80 and up.

they could do what microsoft does AT LEAST and wait until every DLC pack is released or take 2 with borderlands, but instead they come out and release the game again with ONE DLC? SERIOUSLY? not interested. and borderlands game of the year edition WAS RERELEASED AND FORTY BUCKS! heck EA re released battlefield bad company 2 in the standard and ultimate edition with a voucher for battlefield 1943 for 10 bucks more. mind you that if you bought bad company 2, they kept on RELEASING FREE DLC! FREE! activision is out of the loop. id rather go trade in my copy of battlefield 2 for the ultimate edition any day.

Maybe if it was a smaller company I'd be fine with the pricy dlc for so little, so the dev teams could get more money their way. But a company as large as activision? No, that's just way too much. That's the flaw of a free market, sh!t like this just gets to pass at such ridiculous a price. and games for 2009 as still priced like brand new ones.

I get the rage that everyone has but this is standard issue for COD. They always do like a game of the year edition or whatever they've done it since the original modern warfare.

The thing that kills me is that they don't listen to the fans and they never will. They will bring upon their own demise. Just a matter of time before these money whores realize their franchise needs a shot in the neck. Stop supporting thier habbits.

This cycle will repeat as soon as MW3 comes out. Glad I didn't buy any of the dlcs although I should have slapped myself just for buying Blops. Never going to buy COD ever again. Stupid companies always trying to release bunch of high priced dlc every couple months. But man did they seriously go overboard with this one. Escalation in May and Annihilation in June @ $15 each? Ehhh....Like the game. Terrible DLC prices tho. Also its success is turning the gaming industry into one giant homoginized world.(fps after fps) I miss the days when importing wasn't nescessary and every game didnt try and copy call of duty in some form. (Even if it is very small.) Less people should be buying these. This is all your fault call of duty. I want my jrpgs, and I blame you. :/

what a joke! I sold this game like 2 months after it came out. thats how long the fun lasted. This was a good game. but not 120$ good. thats how much many of you are spending on this game. thats just sad. what ever. the video game industry is going down the toilet. At least I got to enjoy its golden years. ah... the snes. the dream cast. the playstation 1. before greed took over. before the wii ruined everything. No the wii is great. but it forced sony and microsoft to make the move and the kinect. which waterdowns the ps3 and 360. casual gaming has ruined hardcore gaming and hardcore games like black ops have ruined gaming all together. enjoy it while it lasts becuase the video game industry is going to be just like TV and Holly wood. 90% TRASH!!!

Sadly, this DLC bundle will sell more than other better games.. and this game already sold $1 billion worth of units... I have to admit that Call of Duty franchise is something fierce and unstoppable.

Did some searching, and it sounds like it just comes with "First Strike." LAME, but not surprising.

$60 sounds like a a great deal. You get all the DLC (adding up to $60) and get the game for free!!

No sense in buying BO at this point. There's plenty of great games coming out later this year that people should save their money for.

new games are coming out, just save your money, ignore this, wait for BF3.
