$400 FFXIII 250GB Xbox 360 bundle officially official

@Greenknight - when did Pawnstop become the authority on anything except used games? Admittedly, they have found a really smart way to continue selling games but not having to give any money to anyone involved in making them, that's cool, but any "game store" where you have to preorder anything if you want it on release day hasn't the right to claim they're the authority on games. They do what Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and every other retailer does with games: Sell them. That's it. Your odds of the high school age kid selling it to you knowing about the game is just as good, and if you don't go to Gamestop, then at least you aren't supporting one of the shadier business practices in gaming.

This bundle still sucks no matter what retailer you chose to go with.

Best Buy!??!?!?!?!? Who goes to that place to buy video games? That's like buying a refrigerator at a car lot - it's just not right. Gamestop is the authority on gaming for a reason.

Best Buy will be including the FFXIII faceplate with online orders of the bundle. Gamestop will also be giving the faceplates away free to bundle buyers (In-store) while supplies last.

You know I'm glad this will be coming out on both systems, it just means that more people will get to enjoy FFXIII. And its also a very smart business move on SE part mainly due to all of the 360 owners here in the Americas.

I'm getting tired of all these 360/PS3 arguments. Just enjoy the game guys and be happy for the fact it even appeared on your respected consoles.

It's just an Xbox 360 w/ an FFXIII faceplate and 250GB HDD. Where's the creativity in this?

Gamespots words not mine "However, we noticed at this stage that the movies on the Xbox 360 suffered from more compression than on the PlayStation 3, while the Xbox 360 had an overall crisper image quality in the main game. This is right from the special square event they held in london last week and this quote is from gamespot.....I will take a hit on compressed video to get crisper in game visuals 360 version for me swapping discs is no big deal I'm not lazy. The only reason you say what you say is because you hate the 360 for some reason.

the ps3 version of Final Fantasy XIII will be better-fact. This is pretty cool though, i hope they do a limited edition ps3 slim like the one in Japan

@CANOFOWNAGE An average electronic hardware fail rate is a significant advantage over the 360.

Who would wanna buy that.Might as well get a PS3 bundled version.Besides FF13 is meant for the PS3, 360 might just break down running it.

I hope they start selling the 250gb hard drive soon, since that looks to be the only really interesting thing with this bundle. I know it comes with Final Fantasy, two controllers, and a faceplate, but other than that, the console looks like a pro with a 250gb hard drive slapped on it. I think they are seeing all the $$ they are raking in from these bundled consoles, and just throwing them out there. At least with the REsident Evil bundle, you got a red console that looked exclusive. Or with the Call of Duty bundle, the whole console was decorated in that fashion. I just think it would be nice if they started selling the 250gb hard drive, especially if they want their customers to start downloading movies(6gb to own) and games on demand , which seem to take up the same amount of space. I have the 120gb and I'm down to 73gbs. I've only downloaded 2 movies(GAmer and The Foot Fist Way), but I would enjoy downloading a few more, but I'm not really sure I want to spare anymore of my hard drive.

That's right I don't like it. It reeks of what I call "gamer logic" (The convoluted and contradictory thought process adopted by video game players to justify the irrational and often paradoxical). If the 360 had a Blu Ray player and required installs you'd be saying "it makes the game better in the long run because I don't have to switch discs, and it doesn't take me out of the experience".

@StephenBassford Why is it that when Microsoft shells out big bucks for a game it's always to the benefit of the community, but when Sony has an exclusive it's "Not fair! They should let everyone enjoy it!!"? Seems like there's a double standard at play here.

@KimCheeWarriorX I think the 250GB standalone HDD will be relased in Japan either March or May. Im not sure about the exact date but its already listed in play-asia.com @wiixx3 Im pretty sure its gonna be best played at the ps3 coz of the BluRay drive. The xbox version only uses standard DVDs AFAIK

@fire-afro It probably means they're going to release it in limited quantities. I wish they would say exactly where you can get one. For now, I'm assuming that you're going to have to get it from either the official Final Fantasy XIII site or Xbox.com. When I find out where and how it's for sale, I'll post it here to let you all know.

@ ParisSun I ain't gonna lie, I want that 250gb HD but I'm not gonna fork over $400 just for that. Believe it or not I actually filled up my 120gb HD with XBLA games and DLC for various games. I'm assuming that somewhere down the line they're going to release it as a stand alone product, just only after all this pack-in craze dies down a bit. Plus their HD's are a bit pricey, I remember paying $150 for my 120GB one when I got it. BS if you ask me. All I have is my original HD for my PS3 and I'm gonna stick with that model of the PS3 because it's the one of the rare ones that emulate PS2 games. It's nice to be able to play PS1, 2, and 3 games on one system. Also, I know you can use any HD on a PS3, I just haven't gotten around to getting one yet although I will probably get one someday just as long as I'll still be able to play PS2 games on my PS3 (still haven't beaten Silent Hill: Shattered Memories). I still own an actual PS2 but I don't have it hooked up right now. It's better to not have to switch systems as often and having my PS2 stored away in my closet saves space on my counter.

I could really use 250gb, between all of my rpgs and movies, I've burned through my 60gb.

@Yannick_18 It might be 5 minutes for Naruto, wait, I never even recalled mentioning Naruto. I recall mentioning bigger games which I specified and it does happen. This isn't some diehard 360 fanboy talking here. I own the system, I own Killzone 2, and it has happened. Granted, I over-exaggerated a little but I still remember it being long enough to where I wasn't just gonna sit there and do nothing while I was waiting for it to install. I don't even know why I bother, you're probably still gonna call me a fanboy no matter what I say, right? LOL Killzone 2 wasn't the only game that happened for either, it goes for many games that use up considerable space on a Blu-Ray disc and since Blu-Ray drive speeds aren't all that fast (yet) and there's so much data to read for some games, a mandatory installation is required. Even if they did it like MGS4 to where you had to install the game in chapters, that would still suck big time and it would still be faster to manually switch discs. Also, I honestly could care less if you believe me or not but let me just say that many PS3 owners here that aren't Sony fanboys (wait, there's such a thing? oh yeah, I'm one of them) know I'm speaking the truth. This isn't just for the sake of me trying to show my undying love for one system or the other, this is just stating that I choose a certain version of the game since it's pointless to own two of the same even if they are for different consoles (unless you're a collector). For once lets just swallow our pride and admit to the truth instead of lying just for the sake of fanboy-ism. I own multiple systems and although I do prefer one over the other (which is natural), there's no reason for me to unwarrantably bash that system. It was just a truthful observation and a reason why I choose the 360 version over the PS3 version, that isn't the case for all games. I mean, my God people.

Wow... @KimChee I'm buying this for the Playstation 3 for sure. and for the BIGGEST mandatory install I did on my Playstation 3 was surely Naruto for 5GB ...it took like 5 minutes ... so 2+ hours ?! you can exagerate but not that much! and for Killzone 2... there's mandatory install Oo The game spins the disc at certain place and that's about it Oo Anyway I don't care about mandatory, I have like 50 games on discs installed with 30 PSN games or more... and I still got plenty of space since I got myself a 1 TB HDD for my PS3 ^^ I'm not dying so I don't care to wait for 5 minutes before I play the thing! Now on topic: the SKU looks nice , hope it helps with sells!!

Or they could just sell it separately and in the bundle, that way everyone is happy! :D The only thing I'm worried about is this; on Xbox 360's "Major's Minute" where I saw the bundle info announced the spokesman was american. Does this mean that the bundle will be $400 dollars just for the american version, because I live in Australia and if the bundle becomes available there then it will probably cost me a lot more. And if this is limited edition how long will it be available? I remember I got a "limited edition" LoZ: PH DS case with the "Limited edition" guide and it was still available a year later. I don't see how something available for that long is limited edition... if it was still available by september I could get it then for my birthday... here the game is $109 to $120 and the special edition game is $140 to $149. the bundle would be more limited edition if the limited edition game was involved with it IMO.

Well if they had to choose between either including it with the system or selling it separately, I'd have to go with selling it separately seeing as how I already have a 360. As cool looking as it is, it still wouldn't have warranted a $400 purchase.

Its a good deal, money wise. But the COD version is way cooler looking.

I'll probably end up getting the faceplate. In the two years I've had this 360, I've never once had a reason to change faceplates but I think now I do. :D

Don't alot of people realize that tons of people that primarily use a 360 used to prefer PS2s and PSones. I can attest to that, in fact, I never even owned an original Xbox. If only ex-Xbox1 owners had a 360, wouldn't that mean that the 360 would have a small userbase like the original and wouldn't that also mean that alot of 360 users have played many Final Fantasy games in the past? C'mon guys, think before you comment. Don't know why I'm even saying this, fanboys are just gonna disagree with me just for the sake of argument, LOL.

OMG?!?! How many limited edition 360s does that make now? 40? 50? Let's just make a limited edition system for every new game release... "You can't be cool if you don't have the new super-awesome-out-of-this-world Fuzion Frenzy 2 Limited Edition bundle!"

@ mikeskullx2004 What isn't right is people thinking that only certain games should be played on certain consoles. That honestly sounds like a fanboy's opinion. It's not your choice on whether games like Tekken and Final Fantasy should be played on more platforms. Also, with Tekken I can kind of understand where you're coming from seeing as how Tekken 6 was the first time a major release from the series landed on a non-Sony platform (besides arcades) but Final Fantasy games have hit so many platforms during its lifespan that saying that it should only be a Sony thing is just downright ignorant. I've been playing the Final Fantasy series since the 80's and I've seen it on everything from the 8-bit NES, Wonderswan, Game Boy, GBA, to the Gamecube. I really wish some of you would do your research before you'd say things like that.
