In my opinion, if you want a real simmulation soccer game, you have to play winning eleven / pro evolution soccer. The latest, the realest!!!
Konami says Winning Eleven series will be next-gen multiplatform after all; EA says FIFA 07 won't be hitting the PS3 or Wii.
Konami has called a foul on Microsoft's recent announcement of next-gen soccer exclusivity. At last week's Leipzig Games Convention, one of the electronics giant's biggest announcements was that Konami's Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer and Electronic Arts' FIFA Soccer series would be "next-gen exclusive" to the Xbox 360 for 12 months, meaning neither game would be hitting the PlayStation 3 or Wii.
That's simply not the case, according to Konami. The Japanese publisher has released the following statement on its English-language Web site:
It has been falsely reported on some websites that Konami will release its Pro Evolution Soccer 6 exclusively for Microsoft's Xbox 360. These reports are not true. Konami is currently proceeding with the production of a multi-platform release of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 so that as many people as possible can enjoy the game.
While the phrasing of that statement could mean Konami simply refutes any reports that the game would be entirely exclusive to the 360 and not appearing on current-gen systems at all, a Konami rep told GameSpot the statement was in reference to Microsoft's press release claiming next-gen exclusivity. That press release was worded ambiguously to say that the franchises would be next-gen exclusive to the Xbox 360 "this year," which could mean the calendar year 2006 or the 12-month exclusivity widely reported. (Before running with the 12-month figure, GameSpot repeatedly confirmed the yearlong period with Microsoft representatives.)
As if this weren't confusing enough, the same Konami representative also told GameSpot that "there is no PS3 version of Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2007, but the series' producer has stated that the series will eventually be coming to PS3." This could mean that Konami expects Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to come out before the announced 12-month exclusivity window will end, or a differently named PS3 or Wii version might be released in the first half of next year.
For EA's part, it appears the publisher is standing by Microsoft's statement. An EA rep told GameSpot bluntly that "FIFA 07 will not be coming to PS3 and Wii. It is available on all current gen platforms and Xbox 360 only." However, that still doesn't exclude the possibility of a FIFA title appearing on PS3 or Wii under another name next year.
As of press time, Microsoft had not returned requests for comments on the situation.
spot on fifa is naff pro evo is for people that really understand football leave fifa for the yanks and their "soccer" ha ha
Who cares if FIFA never comes to the PLAYSTATION 3 or WII. The Game sucked on ps2 and on xbox 360. Winning Eleven is gonna be on the PS3 thats all that matters. That and MGS4. So why does XBOX think they are cool?
fifa 07 demo was rubbish - it looked like fifa 03 -- pro evo 3 +4+5 are better than fifa 07 ------if u want to waste your cash on a game that is na improvement on last years effort but its not better than fifa world cup - world cups graphics are better ------------jsut buy pro evo 6
after playing fifa07 demo I think that konami should improve Winning eleven 2007 to let other next gen owners enjoy there game
Fifa 07 for 360 only (on next gen that is), theres bound to be alot of jealous future Wii and PS3 owners out there
Soooooo, let me get this straight, There is no version planned for the ps3 till 2008 but that dosent mean thats its a next gen exclusive to the 360. So then whats up with the 2007 version? will It be delivered directly to the ps3 owners mind via telepathy? Do they send you a ball and a contract with the pro soccer league? I mean come on we know it will be on all current systems but most people would assume M$ meant a next gen version. Yea sure its just semantics and M$ are a bunch of liars, but so what they are ALL a bunch of liars. The guys at konami prolly crapped themselves at the thought of bringing dishonor to sony, Kaz prolly puts on a ninja suit and smokes the top brass of any company that dares put up the least rebellion against the status quo. Have you seen that guys eyes I bet hes got force choke too on top of his ninja skills.
i think fifa kiks pro evos ass and with a 360 i thinks its well beter cos they can consintrate on making it the best football game ever!!! btw ps3 is no better than the 360 wen all the stats r added up ur just wastin a load of money buyin it y dnt ya just put a 360 in a bread bin and slam in sum old ps2 controlers it'll look identicle
You want to know what i hope ... I hope they release the PS3 Version 4 months after the X360 Version, supposedly in May or June ... And Take the game to an extent that if you look at the X360 Version you will punch the TV and brake your X360 ... LoL >>> Hail Sony >>> Hail Sony >>> Hail Sony. "Every Country in the world, now has a decision to make, your either with us ... Or with the Microsoft." That is a redifined quote from President Bush (Cough* Stupid Cough*) LoL
Have that you jerks why would you only want the games to be on 360 thats so selfish im happy he came out and said something jerks!!!
Winning Eleven = Pro Evolution Soccer. The exclusivity is for Europe. Only Europe... but, Blueray is multizone. I love soccer!!! THE BEST SPORT IN THW WORLD!!!! Micro$soft sucks!!!
Who cares about FIFA all i can say is OPS2 UK had the story straight all along pro Evo6 is for PS3! =). Also do ya reckon the Wii will get more "current" gen graphics?
i think ea is making a mistake they should do what they did on nba live release it on available consoles then when the P$3 and wii come out release it on them in that way they will get p$3 and wii buyers wanting to buy FIFA 08 version and not pro evolution personally i prefer FIFA because of authenticity and im a ps fan so im going for P$3
Sounds all good to me, except that Winning Eleven is now way too multi-platform... Anyway, if the new game is good, I don't mind having multiple similar versions...
As long as Pro evo is coming, i dont give a damn. FIFA always sucked in realistic football simulation and will also suck this time even with or without new engine. Besides, I applaud EA for making a worst marketing plan for an xclusive soccer game.
thekey wrote >Kruegmeister The hard drive is not built in the PS3, its just manditory to run >and play games. Yes it Is built in the PS3. Both Models. Please know what your talking about before spouting.
idiot pepsi, what a moron, LOL. I could say I want Final Fantasy games and the like on xbox(which I never would, FF games are no fun to me), and that Sony and Nintendo are tryin to "run everything". There's gonna be 3rd party exclusives for every system, get over it fanboy
for reference, capcom went to nintendo, not the other way around(in regard to the RE4. Plus the GC version whooped the PS2 version). Microsoft is just trying to play the right card to the mainstream audience. They werent wrong in saying what they said, its only fora year though.
indian pepsi, I for one am glad that resident evil came onto the gamecube. Why should sony get all the fun? Nintendo didnt steal capcom, resident evil 4 came onto the ps2 didnt it? possibly one teh greatest game of that year! One things for sure, europe (especially uk) is mad for football. Too mad in fact. Just absolutly mad and they need their yearly dose of football
360 still get all the great footy franchises first- on a cheaper and graphically comparable console. So what does MS lose????...........................NOTHING
I highly regret getting rid of Winning 11 9 on my xbox. Although I love FIFA World Cup 06, I never dug down and got personal with the Pro Evo series. Unfortunately, I can't find out if either FIFA 07 or Pro Evo on the 360 will feature Dinamo Zagreb. Must. Find. Roster.
well, m$ said PES6, not WEPES2008 or whatever ver thats gonna be released in japan, so m$ are right, arent they? oh well, ps3 japs ver will be region-free, but i wonder if they will release Xbox 360 version for the first time in japan?
this is crap i hate microsoft, i wont have an x-box near me they suck, is bad enough that **** nintendo stole resident evil and wont let res zero on the ps2 or the re-vamped res 1, but y cant micrsoft just stop trying to run it all every gamer should get the right to play fifa 07 on next gen not just 360'
doesn't really bother me .. all that matters to me is that pro evo is coming out on the 360 .. can't wait
ok first of all, let me clear this first: FIFA sucks, so we don't need to fight over it, its all about Pro Evolution Soccer, is that claer? good. and to the main point: if Pro Evolution Soccer doesn't come to PS3 so you have the current + the DS (which i think its the best version of all) to play with, you don't have to buy an XBOX360 to play this game, so if you are a Sony fan, why make your PS2 gather dust and buy another console (even if its comming to the PS3, you don't have to pay 600 just to play this game, so just shut the hell up and buy a version that you like. and again FIFA sucks.
yo, fifa sucks arse, WE kicks it. and who gives a shiot what goes to whichever console. buy what you want and play what you want. and plz stop **** about which is better, they're all good
i was kinda surprised to see konami go exclusive with sony's arch rivals but now its all cleared up but i still think losing fifa is a big blow as fifa sells a lot more and is a more commercial game compared to pro evolution soccer nothing against PES though its still the better game
