Star Trek: Borg Assimilator announced
Activision reveals its upcoming world-building game set in the Star Trek universe.
Activision has announced its upcoming world-building game Star Trek: Borg Assimilator. The game is in development at Cyberlore Studios, the creators of Hasbro Interactive's innovative strategy game Majesty. Borg Assimilator will be the first world-building simulation set in the Star Trek universe. Players assume command of the Borg, and they must conquer and assimilate enemy forces, including the Romulans, the Klingons, and the Federation. The goal of the game is to assimilate a series of worlds and acquire new technology that will enable the development of a stable omega particle.
The campaign mode consists of 12 levels that feature races with progressively higher resistance to assimilation. Players begin with a small Borg colony consisting of a nanogrid generator, an ore refinery, and a group of drones. As they conquer and assimilate the enemy, players gain access to more advanced units and buildings.
We'll have more information about Star Trek: Borg Assimilator as we get closer to the scheduled release date near the end of 2001.
