VOOT Gets Near-Perfect Score

Japanese magazine Famitsu reviews Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram for the Dreamcast and rates it with a near-perfect score.

In the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the Famitsu review crew rated Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram for the Dreamcast. And to most everyone's surprise, the title received one of the highest marks the magazine has ever given out - 10,10,9,10 (a total of 39). A near-perfect score. This was definitely not expected by most, as the game is an arcade port with some - but not a lot - of enhancements. Apparently, the Famitsu staff feels the title is of the highest quality - great news for Dreamcast owners.

The only games Famitsu has ever rated a perfect score of 40 (all tens) are Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64.

Sega of America has yet to confirm if Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram is headed to the US. Previously, company officials informed GameSpot News that the title had been declined for a US release (citing that since the title better was suited for the arcade market rather than home), but the game has since been reevaluated. Sega of America's Charles Bellfield recently told us that " would be an ideal title for point-to-point gaming." The latest rumor from the Sega camp, though, points to VOOT appearing as an online-purchasable-only product (through Sega.com). We'll keep you posted.
