E3 06: THQ, Pandemic to Destroy All Humans...again

Crypto 137 returns to mop up the stragglers on PlayStation 2 and Xbox this fall.

Last year, Crypto 137 was sent to Earth with one mission: destroy all humans. THQ announced today that it is sending the most illegal of aliens back this fall in Destroy All Humans! 2 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It seems humans proved to have a cockroach-like tenacity at clinging to life, so Crypto must revisit the wretched mud-ball that is Earth during the swingin' '60s and show the universe that flower power is no match for a good probing.

Once again stepping into the moon boots of Crypto, players will have a whole host of new humans to destroy, from Cold War-era soviet forces and super spies to ninjas, so the age-old question of whether an alien or a ninja would win a fight can finally be answered. Developer Pandemic is also putting a new multiplayer cooperative mode into the game, as well as five new open-ended worlds.

No pricing or rating information has been announced.

I thought Destroy All Humans was the definition of rent, which is a shame because I really liked the premise. It also came at a very slow time for gaming, summertime. The Co-op mode will have to have atleast FOUR people in it for me to give it a look, and is it going to hit the 360? It just says Xbox.

"Sand box games are kind of a bit boring at times anyone agree?"

Once you finish them, maybe. DAH and Gun both lacked the post-resolution free-roam that GTA has done so well. However the games are fun to play through in story mode.

Why isn't Pandemic working on Mercenaries 2? If any of their games deserve a sequel it's Mercenaries.

I hope the sequel is alittle more fleshed out then the original. Not only was it short, but it was way to linear. They made it seem it was going to be as open and free-form as GTA, but they didn't deliver.

WOO HOO, the original was what i would call an intelligent GTA, since it actually had some quite funny touches to it. I know gamespot gave it an OK review because it was "short" and all. (Can a 10 hour game really be called short?) but then again gamespot has been dropping IGN-esque defication all over the place when it comes to otherwise GREAT games. (farcry predator, tomb raider legend) and a few others i thought i was gonna complain about but forget at this time.

Anyhow like i said this game is the intelligent GTA game which doesnt numb my brain.

Who cares why crypto is coming back to finish the job, he was probably pissed off at the most annoying form of life on earth: the american teenager.

(anyone who has had to listen to the oprah show about crystal meth using people would understand what i mean, when this annoying as hell chick is still pissed off at her mom for "ruining her life' when the poor woman sends her absolutely WORTHLESS human refuse of a daughter to a rehabilitation clinic and the little wh0re is still so ungrateful it makes you wish she would just kill herself already - because not like her life is going to be worth anything anyways).

so heres to DESTROY ALL HUMANS 2: DIE DRUG INFESTED SKANK.

I liked the first game! For the sequel I was hoping they'd visit a different time period. Like the 80's. Why don't they port it to the 360?

I was so excited for this game. It looked great to me and I loved Mars Attacks, but after the first few levels the styling wears thin and you're left with boring, repetetive gameplay. I shoulda known- I've never felt compelled to finish any of the Pandemic games I own.

No ones going to buy it, by then the Rev and PS3 will most likely hit, and MS would probably drop the 360 price too.

Geez, a lot of you are saying how short it was or how clumsy it was or something like that. Just enjoy it for what it's worth. A funny laid back human killing spree. I loved it, genius. Stop hating!
