Writers named for Getting Up film

Team behind next year's King Tut reforms to stick it to the graffiti-hating Man in big-screen take on Contents Under Pressure.

According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, MTV Films' big-screen adaptation of Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure has found its writing team. It seems the pair of Sean O' Keefe and Will Staples will put the story together. Although the two don't have any previously released writing credits to their names, they are collaborating on a pair of other movies at the moment--Renny Harlin's The Northmen (due this year) and Roland Emmerich's King Tut (set for a 2007 release).

Hold Up .. The game was LEET man.. got a bit repetitive towards the end, but hey... ya still remember the first tony hawk pro skater? same story..

But a MOVIE????? Come on, i bet its gonna be over dramtized:
" look at the poor kid, he doesnt have a father anymore so he has to spend all his money on spraypaint en wreck the city"
They'd better have an interview with delta, cope2 or loomit !

Yo.. I wouldn't be cappin' on the movie before it even comes out. Yeh, its being done by MTV Films (and yes, they do some crappy movies) they may even 'commercialze' it like one of you said. But with such a deep story that the game had, i think it has some potential. I've never gotten my hands on any of the graff movies or documentaries back then, but im hopin this one won't be so bad. But if i even see 50 Cent's name up in there, i won't even watch it at all..

if you want to see an okay graf film, check out bomb the system (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337585/). I am sure this movie will suck since it is being done by MTV films.. and bryehngeocef, Hustle and Flow was a horribly commercial take on hip hop.. such a bad film, bad acting, bad writing, bad lyrics.. you know it's hard out here for a pimp, gotta pay the money and the rent? seriously? wow, that's got oscar written all over it..oh wait.......

Nothin' against the game or the idea for the game, but this really does have "crap" plastered all over its forehead. I mean, it COULD go out and be another 8 Mile or some such (don't care whatcha' say, 8 Mile was excellent), but I don't really see MTV Films pulling it off. They'll probably bog it down with Hollywood "urbanization."

"Thanks for that riveting yet ultimately ignorable commentary, Cast-Aside Movie Critic John Doedermiester. In other news, a local baby cheddar block was sexually assaulted outside Police Precinct 69 in New York, today. The loafer parents of the block claimed the perpetraitor made several explicit and inappropriate references to tagging the child with "cheez wizz." For more on this story, we go live to a sudden nuclear explosion outside our..." *static*

I wish we knew what genres these people have experience with, as well as just what their overall experience is so it would be easier to call whether or not it will be good.
