More than three weeks before F.E.A.R. assaults stores, the first multiplayer demo for the PC shooter has debuted on GameSpot. A single-player demo for the game has been available since August.

Weighing in at 462.3MB, the MP demo for F.E.A.R. lets players load up on both normal and slo-mo versions of three modes: deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. The demo also includes both elimination and team elimination game types and two maps: Factory, a deathmatch map meant for eight to 16 players, and Facility, a capture-the-flag map meant for six to 16 players. Both maps will allow for dedicated servers and will let players choose from six different starting weapons.

F.E.A.R. profiles a US special-ops soldier dispatched to a top-secret research facility that has mysteriously gone offline. Unfortunately, whatever is inside this facility is none too fazed by elite commandos, as it just wiped out the Army's elite Delta Force team. GameSpot's previous coverage has the latest on-site intel about the game.

As of October 18, F.E.A.R. will also be available in two versions: the regular version and a special director's edition DVD, which features a "making of" documentary, a developer's roundtable video, and an exclusive machinima episode from the creators of Red vs. Blue. Both versions of the game are rated M for Mature.
