50 Cent shoots up Web
Internet site features new movies, screenshots of VU Games' upcoming underworld shooter starring Dr. Dre's protégé.
50 Cent, aka Curtis Jackson, is about to blow up. The rapper is currently riding high on his second album, The Massacre, currently number two on Billboard's top 100 after 28 weeks in release. He also has a movie coming out in November, appropriately titled Get Rich or Die Tryin' and is seeing fellow G-Unit members stride toward success on the path he paved.
Anyone who has wanted to be 50 will get a chance this fall, thanks to VU Games. The hip-hop icon is starring in his own game, 50 Cent: Bulletproof, set for release in mid-November on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 (a PSP version is scheduled for next year). In anticipation of the game, VUG has rolled out a heap of content on the game's official Web site.
In addition to getting the lowdown on the game's details, visitors who enter the site (which contains mature content) will be treated to two new movies, a trailer for 50's upcoming theatrical release, and almost two dozen screenshots. Those not getting 'nuff respect online can also download icons for AOL's and MSN's instant messenger programs ("G-G-G-G Unit, ROTFLOL!") or bring the hood to their desktop with four 50-themed wallpapers.
50 Cent: Bulletproof is rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage or watch an exclusive video interview with the man himself, 50 Cent.
