Rampage returns to PS2, GameCube
Midway's monstrosities set to wreak havoc on metropolises in Rampage: Total Destruction.
Midway showcased some of its upcoming lineup at the company's headquarters in Chicago today, and one was a real "rubble-rouser." The publisher unveiled Rampage: Total Destruction for the first time, a reworking of the classic arcade game Rampage. The game is being developed by Pipeworks Software, which has monster-meets-metropolis credits with Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee.
Like the original, gamers can unleash their inner beasts by playing the supersized simian George, the larger-than-life lizard Lizzie, or the whopping werewolf Ralph. And this time there are even more monsters to unlock and play as. The destruction is rampant as gamers will scale skyscrapers, fell helicopters, and eat a few hapless citizens.
Rampage: Total Destruction is headed for the GameCube and PlayStation 2 in spring of 2006 with a price tag of $19.99. For more on the game and other Midway titles on display at the publisher's press event, check out GameSpot's coverage.
