24, 360 Prey top 2K Games' E3 lineup; GTA PSP named?
Television-series title and PC shooter port join Civilization IV, Elder Scrolls IV, Pirates!, and more.
LOS ANGELES--Besides trotting out an impressive array of sports games for current and next-gen consoles, 2K Games today announced the rest of its E3 lineup. While most titles had been previously known, the list of games the Take-Two Interactive subsidiary will be showing at the annual game expo in Los Angeles did contain a few surprises.
For instance, 2K Games will distribute the game adaptation of 24, the popular Fox television series starring Kiefer Sutherland and Dennis Haysbert. Like one might expect from a title developed from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, 24: The Game is PlayStation 2-exclusive and will feature a range of third-person shooting and driving missions.
Another unknown title on the 2K Games slate was the Xbox 360 version of Prey, the once-canceled, since-resurrected PC shooter. Though Human Head Studios has taken over development duties from 3D Realms which is still on board to "supervise" the process. Both versions of the game will be based on the Doom 3 engine.
If catching terrorists or blasting aliens isn't your style, another new Take-Two game is reportedly being unveiled at E3. According to a growing number of online reports, the Rockstar Games booth is showing a display for one Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, the upcoming GTA game for the Sony PSP. The title would make sense, as Rockstar has previously announced that the game would be set in Liberty City, the crime-plagued, New York City-esque metropolis featured in Grand Theft Auto III. The fact that the New York City-based publisher has also registered the libertycitystories.com URL adds further credence to this theory.
Here is a full list of 2K Games on display:
