Mage Knight Apocalypse cast for PCs
Namco is turning WizKids' miniatures-based fantasy tabletop game into an action role-playing title.
Namco Hometek today announced that it will be publishing Mage Knight Apocalypse. The action role-playing game will be available for PC owners in the spring of 2006. InterServ International, the Taiwanese studio behind Iron Phoenix, is developing the game.
Mage Knight Apocalypse is based on the popular tabletop game Mage Knight from WizKids Games, which uses miniature figurines to simulate epic battles set in a fantasy realm.
The digital version follows a storyline from a future edition of Mage Knight. Gamers will choose one of five heroes to help stop the five-headed Apocalypse Dragon and an army of wretched evil.
Rather than allocate experience or skill points toward leveling-up attributes, characters' skills will progress dynamically. Cast a ton of magic, and the character becomes more adept with sorcery. Swing a giant axe, and the character's strength will increase. The game features single-player, cooperative, and competitive multiplayer modes.
GameSpot will have more on Mage Knight Apocalypse as information is released.
