Scarface delayed, coming to Xbox 360

VU Games confirms film-inspired actioner now not coming until 2006, confirms next-gen version is in the works.

Following reports in the European press, VU Games confirmed to GameSpot that Scarface: The World is Yours has been delayed. The publisher said the game, inspired by the 1983 crime-epic film Scarface, will not be released until "2006," and the company did not specify a quarter or season. Less than two weeks ago, VU had announced the game would be released for the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 this coming fall.

Speaking of platforms, VU Games also revealed that Scarface: The World is Yours will now also see a release on next-generation consoles in 2006. Later, a rep for the company confirmed it would be "an Xbox 2 SKU," but would say nothing of any other next-gen versions.

Like the film, Scarface: The World is Yours follows the criminal undertakings of Cuban-immigrant-turned-cocaine baron Tony Montana. Al Pacino played Montana in the film, and the game will feature the Oscar-winning actor's likeness, but not his vocal talent. Pacino's costars, Robert Loggia and Steven Bauer, will also lend their likenesses as well as their voices to the game. GameSpot's previous coverage has more information.

    They Should make a second scarface game were he trys to take over the european drug market that would be a little cool

    scarface: the world is yours could of been one of the best games ever i think, they have a great idea and a great character Tony Montana, i loved earning money and going shopping, if they made a next-gen remake it would be soo good, they have to fix everything up, it could of been great. It was still great but not enough time spent on it, very rough in the end, it was great fun though

    If any of the Scarface game creaters, at Radical Entertainment read this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this game on XBOX360. I think it is one of the best games on PS2, but if it was on 360 with that little bit better graphics and gameplay...it will be Brilliant!!!! i love the PS2 version, its really amazing. So if it was released on 360 it would be even better! Also if it is realeased i know loads of people will buy it, because i know so many people that were going to get it!
    Please release it on 360 Radical entertainment!!

    didnt they just say its being delayed.... i hope its just being delayed.... cuz then it will really suck for us, the XBOX 360 users.

    Now the rumors look true,but I don't care,I wouldn't play this game anyway.
    It's just that I can't stand any GTA type games anymore.
    If I hadn't played San Andreas I would be fine.

    Well from whats been going around, Doesn't Look like its going on the 360. and if those Rumors are correct, then that really sucks. the game looks Great. Bring on 360!!
