THQ Wireless to launch Star Wars wallpapers and ringtones
Fanatics obsessed with the Force and all things Jedi related will soon be able to get their fix on the go.
For the purposes of the Star Wars project, THQ Wireless received unfettered access to LucasArts' Star Wars archives, including all film, art, music, and sound effects from the series, and even some of the voice actors. The company has been busy turning this material into ringtones, wallpapers, and video clips, all of which will be exclusive to Cingular.
The company will start the rollout today with content promoting the impending release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and transition to goods centered on a holistic view of the Star Wars universe--including the highly regarded Clone Wars cartoon series featured on Cartoon Network. After today, new content will be released approximately every two weeks--eventually hundreds of different wallpapers and ringtones will be available for Star Wars fans. In addition to these products, THQ Wireless will also be working with Sony Ericsson to produce two Star Wars phones preloaded with special wallpapers and video clips.
