Q Entertainment trademarks Fileman

Tetsuya Mizuguchi's development studio planning an online game or utility?

TOKYO--According to the Japan Patent Office, Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment registered the trademark "Fileman" in December. The Fileman trademark is specifically registered for use in "providing games, music, sounds, pictures, and movies, with the use of the Internet, mobile phones, or a handheld client with communication capabilities." The classification sounds broad enough that it can be used for any kind of product or service, though given that Q Entertainment is a game studio, the company most likely registered the trademark with intentions to use it for either the Nintendo DS or PSP. Since companies often acquire trademarks without ever using them, we'll have to wait and see if Q Entertainment will actually be going forward with any kind of a product under the Fileman name. GameSpot will report additional news when it becomes available.
