Batman Begins film cast joins game
Multiplatform movie tie-in will feature likenesses of Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, and Oscar nominee Morgan Freeman.
Electronic Arts' latest movie-based game loaded up on voice talent today. Batman Begins, the multiplatform stealth action game, will feature the voice talent of nearly the entire cast of its summer blockbuster inspiration.
Christian Bale will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, the millionaire heir who grapples with the trauma of his parents' murder by stopping crime as the caped vigilante Batman. Two-time Oscar-winner Michael Caine will play Alfred Pennyworth, Wayne's longtime butler, while four-time Oscar nominee Morgan Freeman will play Lucius Fox, the industrialist who builds the Batmobile. Wayne's martial arts master and spiritual mentor, Henri Ducard, will be played by Liam Neeson, while Katie Holmes will provide the voice for Wayne's love interest, Rachel Dawes. The Full Monty's Tom Wilkinson and 28 Days Later's Cillian Murphy will also be featured in the game as the villains Carmine Falcone and the Scarecrow, respectively.
Batman Begins will be released for the Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 the same day Batman Begins hits theaters on June 17. Today's announcement did not mention the DS, PSP, or Game Boy Advance versions of the game, but previous statements made by EA revealed they would also launch "alongside" the film, which is being directed by Memento helmer Christopher Nolan. The film's script was cowritten by Nolan and Blade screenwriter David S. Goyer.
