Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith doesn't come out until May, but gamers will soon have a glimpse of the film. LucasArts has sent the gold manufacturing master of Star Wars Republic Commando to the factory. The blend of science fiction and stealthy action is now on track for its scheduled March 1 deployment date for the Xbox and PC.

Juxtaposing Rainbow Six 3-esque squad-based action with the Star Wars universe, Republic Commando follows a team of elite clone troopers on a series of dangerous missions. Set between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III, the game features locales and story elements from both films in its 15 levels, which include the planet Geonosis and the jungles of Kashyyyk, the wookiee homeworld.

Both versions of Star Wars Republic Commando are rated "T" for Teen and will retail for $49.99. GameSpot's previous coverage of the game has more details, and PC gamers can download a demo from GameSpot DLX.
