Myst IV heading for the Xbox
Ubisoft will publish the fourth installment in the popular franchise on Microsoft's console in March.
Ubisoft today announced that it is bringing its popular PC adventure game Myst IV Revelation to the Xbox. The T-rated title was originally released in September 2004 for the PC, and will be available for Xbox owners this March for the bargain price of $19.99.
The Myst games were the all-time best-selling PC franchise before being dethroned by Electronic Arts' The Sims series. The games have always gained attention for their detailed environments and puzzle-oriented gameplay, which will both be present in the console version of the game.
"The Xbox version of Myst IV Revelation features enhancements for console gamers, for example, improved menus to facilitate navigation, more accessible help map system, faster one-click access interface, and an improved zip mode," said Ubisoft producer Genevieve Lord. "Also, to answer some who have inquired, know that we didn't change the gameplay, as that is what makes Myst IV Revelation such a compelling experience."
In Myst IV, gamers will help find a missing girl, which then leads them directly to the girl's two older brothers, Sirrus and Achenar. As a friend of the scientist Atrus, the father of the two brothers and the missing girl, the gamer's character will agree to help unravel the mystery behind the girl's disappearance.
GameSpot will have more on Myst IV Revelation for the Xbox. In the meantime, have a look at our full review for the PC version of the game.
