Ubisoft brightening Lumines' day?
PSP puzzler from Japan may be coming to North America from Ubisoft; announcement expected to be made next week.
It appears that Lumines, a PSP puzzle game previously available only in Japan, may be headed to North America. According to online retailer GameStop.com, the title has been picked up by Ubisoft and will be available in March.
Ubisoft was unable to offer an official confirmation, but a staffer there did say the company would "likely make an announcement next week."
Lumines was a launch title for the PSP when the handheld was released in Japan last month. The game combines Tetris-style gameplay with a colorful background that changes appearance with the music's soundtrack.
The game's release is yet another clue that the PSP is scheduled to surface in North America this March.
We'll have more on Lumines soon. In the meantime, check out our preview of the Japanese version and previous coverage of the puzzler.
