Prince of Persia sequel goes gold
Ubisoft's darker iteration on the Prince of Persia franchise comes to light on multiple consoles December 2; was originally dated for mid-November.
Ubisoft today announced that Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and PC has gone gold and is off to production. The title, originally scheduled to release on November 15, then moved to November 30, is now going to be on store shelves December 2.
The delay likely had more to do with the cluster of blockbuster titles, including Halo 2 and Half-Life 2, being released in mid-November rather than production tweaks for the action/adventure title. The sequel to last year's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time features a darker, edgier Prince on a quest to dodge his prophesied death. The game returns with much of the fighting system and puzzle-solving from the first adventure, but expands on the Prince's combat maneuvers.Hot Stories
