Aspyr bringing Doom 3 to Mac

The leading Macintosh developer will port id's gruesome FPS sequel to the Apple platform. No release date has been set.

Aspyr Media today announced that the company will be publishing id's Doom 3 for the Macintosh. The long-awaited installment in the seminal first-person shooter series takes place within the ruins of an ancient Martian civilization, where all hell has literally broken loose. Doom 3 has been available for the PC since early August, and is expected to hit the Xbox in March 2005. Though no release date has been set for the Mac version, Aspyr's Web site is accepting preorders. Doom 3 is rated "M" for Mature and will set diehard Mac gamers back $49.99.
