TOKYO--All eyes are on Sony's PSP announcements today, and Square Enix has moved to secure itself a slice of mindshare. The role-playing game publisher today announced another entry in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII series of spin-off games based on its popular PlayStation RPG, this one for the PSP.

Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII [working title] will be an action RPG, and it is currently slated to release in early 2006. The game will be produced by Yoshinori Kitase, who directed the original 1997 game. Tabata Hajime, who directed Before Crisis - Final Fantasy VII, the mobile phone Compilation game, will direct Crisis Core. The character designs will again be the work of Tetsuya Nomura, who designed the characters for FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, and the Kingdom Hearts series, among other Square Enix games.

The official teaser page for Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII has opened on Square Enix's site. GameSpot will bring you any additional information on Crisis Core as it breaks.

needless to say Crisis Core japanese version will be far superior to the english one since Gackt will voice Genesis and Genesis is modeled after Gackt !!

"When will this game be released?"

look at the date on this article, thats over 2 years ago!!

IMHO, Square should be releasing the second FF for the PSP this holiday season, let alone not have the first one out yet!!!

but, they are like this for all FF releases, and i have to hand it to them, they have not made a single bad FF yet, so in some ways, it's worth the wait, but common guys, 2 years!!!

Wow I can't wait to see a trailer from this game . I just saw the first episode from the Last order series and I can't wait to play a game based on that story . That's another good reason for me to buy a PSP this summer instead of a DS . As a fan of Final Fantasy VII this game will be another one on my buying list .

This looks like it might be a remake specifically for the PSP in order to get more people to buy the PSP. If thats the case im disgusted with Square Enix's lack of originality. I wish that Square never went bankrupt. That being said I AM interested in the PSP and was looking to buy one. I also love the Final fantasy series and if the did remake the FF games on PSP I would probably buy them.........besides you cannot blame them for doing this since the origional FF-VII was so huge and Advent Children pulled in a lot of cash.
