Japanese publishers join forces to release cell phone games in various Asian territories.

TOKYO--Japanese game publishers Konami and Takara announced today that they have joined forces to release Konami's mobile phone games in Asian countries outside of Japan. Later in the year, Takara will release a board game for mobile phones where the object is to become the richest player in the game. The titles will be available for download on FarEasTone Telecommunications' Super i-style in Hong Kong, and SmarTone Mobile Communications' SmarTone 'in' in Hong Kong and Macao.

Konami currently has mobile content distribution routes in 21 countries, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, North America, and the UK.
