Guilty Gear X2 #Reload hits Xbox
The latest home version of Arc System Works' arcade brawler boasts Xbox Live support and a $19.99 price tag.
Originally slated for a September 7 release, Guilty Gear X2 #Reload made its debut today on the Xbox. The brawler's release marks the first appearance of Arc System Works' 2D arcade fighting franchise on the Microsoft console. (Another game in the franchise, Guilty Gear Isuka, will arrive later this year.) The game will feature full Xbox Live support, including head-to-head online competition. However, the real punch comes with the game's suggested retail price--just $19.99.
"Guilty Gear X2 #Reload takes the classic fighting-game franchise to an exciting new level with enhanced anime-style visuals and compelling multiplayer support via Xbox Live," said Ken Gold, vice president of marketing for the game's publisher, Majesco. "This offering of a highly entertaining product at an attractive price point appeals to both hard-core fighting fans, as well as the casual, mass-market audience."
In Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, a new breed of bioweapon called Gears, engineered from human and animal DNA, is at war with the humans. Now self-aware and intelligent, they pose a threat to the planet and the human race. Game modes include medal of millionaire mode, versus mode, story mode, and others. The game will feature 20 playable characters, plus hidden characters, instant kill moves for each character, and thousands of combos and maneuvers.
