Next Wild Arms title to premiere at TGS
Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator will ship in 2005 for the PlayStation 2.
TOKYO--Sony Computer Entertainment has announced a release date and official title for Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator, the latest in the company's role-playing game series. Slated for release in spring 2005 on the PlayStation 2, the game was previously in development under the name of Wild Arms: Another Code F.
According to the teaser site that opened today, Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator will feature a number of new systems that will, according to the site, flip many series conventions on their heads. The subtitle "Detonator" was added on as a symbol to show that the developers will continuously come up with new ideas for the series.
Fans of the series may remember that this title was originally announced alongside Wild Arms: Alter Code F, a top-to-bottom remake of the first story in the series that features the cel-shaded graphic style of the new PS2 titles in the series. Agetec will release Alter Code F in the US later this year; no US release plans for Detonator have been announced.
Wild Arms: The 4th Detonator will be playable at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which is taking place in Japan between September 24 to 26. In the meantime, fans can check out the teaser site to see the silhouettes of four characters in the game.
