Nintendo's fall schedule reveals delays, confirms dates
Star Fox and Geist won't arrive until 2005; Grand Theft Auto Advance and Final Fantasy I & II releases nailed down.
Today Nintendo released its fall 2004 schedule, whetting the appetites of Cubers and GBAddicts everywhere. Besides revealing the likely subtitle of the next Prince of Persia game ("Warrior Within"), the lineup confirmed that Mario Tennis and Viewtiful Joe 2 will hit GameCubes by year's end. The schedule also revealed that two hip-hop games--Get On Da Mic and Get On Da Floor--will now be released for the GameCube.
Game Boy Advance fans also got a double dose of excitement, learning that the newly titled Grand Theft Auto Advance and Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls will arrive on October 19 and November 29, respectively. Also, the addition of Dawn of Souls to the GBA port of Final Fantasy I & II answers questions raised by Nintendo's recent trademarking of the title.
However, the news wasn't all good. In the introduction to the listing, Nintendo made official what had been rumored for weeks: Star Fox and Geist have been pushed back to next year. It also dashed slim hopes of a bongo-filled 2004 holiday season by reconfirming that Donkey Kong Jungle Beat will be released in 2005.
