Prince of Persia 2 title revealed?
Nintendo is listing the sequel to last year's innovative platformer as "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within."
Earlier this week, it was widely rumored that Playstation.com had revealed the official name of the upcoming sequel to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Unconfirmed reports said the site briefly listed the game with the title "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within." Attentive fans of the franchise should recognize the title as an allusion to a certain event from the original Prince of Persia game.
Now, a second console-maker has listed the game with the same name on its official schedule. On the fall schedule it released today, Nintendo also clearly lists the sequel as "Prince of Persia: Warrior Within." This was backed up by the apparent leak of the game's European box art (pictured), which could not be authenticated as of press time.
However, despite such mounting evidence, Ubisoft has still not officially confirmed the change from the current working title, Prince of Persia 2. Representatives contacted by GameSpot would say only that there would be an official announcement sometime in September.
Whatever its final title is, the next Prince of Persia game is scheduled to ship for the PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube on November 16.
