Evolution and Sony sign exclusive deal
World Rally Championship developer to continue its racing franchise and create original games exclusively for Sony's current and next-gen consoles.
UK-based Evolution Studios has entered into an agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to develop games exclusively for Sony's platforms. Evolution is the developer of the World Rally Championship series for the PlayStation 2.
Under the terms of the agreement, Evolution will continue to develop the WRC series as well as several original games for Sony's current and next-generation consoles. One of Evolution's development teams is currently working on an original game for the PSP, and the company has been recruiting staff for next-generation projects at its Web site.
Evolution is finishing work on the fourth WRC game, which will be released in Europe this October exclusively for the PS2.
