Ben Wallace to grace ESPN NBA 2K5 cover
ESPN and Visual Concepts' basketballer to feature the all-star Detroit Pistons center on its cover.
ESPN Videogames today announced that it has selected Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace to adorn the cover of the upcoming ESPN NBA 2K5. The game, which is being developed by Sega's Visual Concepts studio, is set to ship this November for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, with a value-minded retail price of $19.99.
Wallace is a two-time NBA defensive player of the year and helped lead the Pistons to win last season's NBA championship. "I have been in their television commercials for the past two years, so I was honored when they asked me to appear on the cover of ESPN NBA 2K5," he said.
The basketball game's main expansion from last year's edition is what ESPN terms the "reactive court sense," which allows players to independently react to each opponent's actions. GameSpot will provide more information on the game as the release date approaches.
