Xpand Rally expanding
Techland announces that its upcoming rally title for the PC will support player-created content, including both additional tracks and cars.
Techland today announced that Xpand Rally will feature editing tools that let players customize existing game content or create their own from scratch. When Xpand Rally is released later this year, players will also have the ability to download content created by other fans of the game, including all-new cars and tracks, from the game's official Web site.
"At the beginning of this year after publishing the first information about authoring tools for Xpand Rally we received many emails with questions regarding the possibility of creating players' own tracks and adding their own cars to the game," said Adam Tutaj, marketing manager at Techland. "We have decided to use the interest of the mod community and we have invited them to cooperate with us before the game is released. From among all interested we have chosen a group of people that are now working on the 3D models of their favorite rally cars. That is why it is very likely that just after the release of the game the players will be able to download many additions to the game that will contain new rally cars and will be created by the game fans."
Xpand Rally is currently scheduled for release in September. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
