Street Fighter producer founds new company

Noritaka Funamizu, best known for producing the Street Fighter series, leaves Capcom to form new company.

TOKYO--According to a recent report on the Japanese Gamersta Web site, Noritaka Funamizu recently left Capcom to found his own company. Funamizu is best known for his work as the producer of the Street Fighter series. He most recently held the positions of executive director and research and development division 1 chief at the company.

Funamizu's new company is called Craft and Meister, and it was created with another ex-Capcom producer, Katsuhiro Sudo. Not much is known about the company's plans at present, but since Craft and Meister currently only has six employees, Funamizu and Sudo are, unsurprisingly, searching for recruits.

In addition to the Street Fighter games, Funamizu's credits include a number of recent titles, such as Resident Evil Outbreak and Monster Hunter. Sodo, who worked with Funamizu in Capcom's research and development division 1, was the producer on both Auto Modellista and Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon.
