Driver 3 gets green light

Action title from Atari moves a step closer to full retail distribution; game sent to duplication and looks solid for a June 21 release.

PlayStation 2 and Xbox gamers will soon be able to wrap their hands around Driver 3, the delayed action driving game from developer Reflections and publisher Atari. The publisher says that the game has gone gold and is due in US retailers on June 21. Australian gamers get their copies a day later. The game is rated "M" for Mature and will retail for $49.99.

Driver 3 follows the adventures of Tanner, the undercover police officer who starred in the previous entries in the series, which sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. Driver 3 features three modes--undercover, take a ride, and driving games--in three different cities--Miami, Florida; Nice, France; and Istanbul, Turkey.
