Adios E3 2004
Tenth anniversary event breaks records; sets news standard. The throngs retreat well served.
The annual game industry trade event that brings together major game publishers from around the world, hundreds and hundreds of press, the worldwide retail community, and more than 5,000 game products, closed its doors Friday afternoon in Los Angeles.
Event organizers said the event drew 65,000 attendees with more than 87 countries represented in the attendee pool. More than 400 exhibitors packed a full 540,000 square feet of exhibit space in the LA Convention Center for this year's four-day event.
Calling E3 "the world's premier interactive entertainment trade event over the past decade," Doug Lowenstein, president of the ESA, praised those responsible for producing and participating in the event in a statement released shortly before the official end of E3 2004.
E3 2005 is scheduled for May 18-20, 2005, in Los Angeles.
