EA gets serious about NASCAR PC

The next NASCAR game for the PC will aim to please demanding driving sim fans.

Astute NASCAR fans may have noted that, for the first time in recent years, EA didn't announce a simultaneous release of NASCAR 2005 across consoles and the PC. As we've learned at E3 2004, that's because there's something completely different in store for the PC. Now that EA has the exclusive rights to the NASCAR franchise--taking historical PC competitors out of the market--it will produce a separate PC driving game aimed at the tastes of the serious driving simulation crowd.

NASCAR 2005 for the PC is getting a full 18-month development cycle, and the work has been moved in-house to EA Tiburon. EA plans to talk more about the game later in the year and will release the PC version next February.
