Activision readying Tony Hawk's Underground 2
Earnings announcement mentions sequel as one of the publisher's "key" titles for the next year.
Today, Activision reported record earnings for its last fiscal year. One of the most successful titles in its catalog was Tony Hawk's Underground, the open-ended reinvention of the classic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. Since its release last October, the game has been a top seller on all platforms, and it remains one of the top 20 rented games in the US to this day.
So it should come as no surprise then, that Activison is planning a sequel to THUG. During its conference call--and on the press release preceding it--Activision listed its "key releases" for the coming year. In the middle of the list is "Tony Hawk's Underground 2," between Rome: Total War and Call of Duty: Finest Hour.
However, that's all the information Activison has released on Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Other than saying it would ship sometime in its current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2005, the publisher did not give any other release information on the game. Activision also made no mention of which consoles Tony Hawk's Underground 2 would be released on, although its predecessor was released on every current-generation platform except the PC and the N-Gage.
GameSpot will have more details on Tony Hawk's Underground 2 as they become available.
