Tekken 5 taking on Adversary in Namco's E3 lineup
Newly announced fighting sequel and mystery game will join Taiko Drum Master, Xenosaga Episode II, and more in Los Angeles next week.
Just days after rumors surrounding another possible Tekken sequel were debunked, Namco Hometek has announced that Tekken 5 is indeed in development for the PlayStation 2 and will be on display at this year's E3. No details about the game were given other than that it would "debut" at the annual industry expo/game conference/weeklong sensory assault.
Namco will also unveil another, more mysterious new game at E3. No information is available about the game other than its title--The Adversary. Namco's E3 announcement also confirmed that several games from its Japanese catalog will be making their way stateside. Taiko Drum Master, an Americanized version of the popular PS2 Japanese game Taiko no Tatsujin, will join Xenosaga Episode II on its journey across the Pacific. While Xenosaga will arrive in "early 2005," no date was given for Taiko Drum Master, which is itself only a tentative title. Namco will be showing many other previously announced games at E3, including:- Ace Combat 5 (Fall 2004, PS2)
- Baten Kaitos (TBA, GC)
- Dead To Rights II (Fall 2004, PS2 & Xbox)
- Death By Degrees (Fall 2004, PS2)
- Ghosthunter (August 2004, PS2)
- Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2 (Summer 2004, PS2)
- Street Racing Syndicate (Fall 2004, GC, PS2, & Xbox)
- Tales Of Symphonia (Summer 2004, GC)
- Time Crisis: Crisis Zone (September 2004, PS2)
