Resident Evil Outbreak unleashed
Zombies sighted in major cities as Capcom announces the North American release of its PlayStation 2 survival horror game.
Capcom has today announced the North American release of Resident Evil Outbreak, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 2. The game is rated "M" for Mature and retails for $49.99, and requires a PS2 online adapter for its network mode.
The publisher is marking today's launch with a number of promotional activities that are scheduled to take place on April 1-3. Zombies of all shapes, sizes, and professions will be shambling along the streets of Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco for these three days. Fans in San Francisco are additionally invited to attend a launch event at the Metreon PlayStation store on the evening of April 2. Resident Evil Outbreak is the latest release in Capcom's long-running survival horror series and is the first to offer online play. Outbreak returns to the ghoul-overrun Raccoon City, where players must fend off undead attackers with whatever weapons they can scrounge. Besides online co-op play, the game features many gameplay tweaks and graphics, which are outlined in Brad Shoemaker's preview.Hot Stories
