Logitech has today unveiled the successor to its Cordless Controller for the Xbox at the CeBIT trade show in Hannover, Germany. The Cordless Precision Controller will offer a number of improvements over the original, including a lower price ($49.99), a smaller size, and half the battery requirement. Scheduled for release later this spring, the controller will work for at least 50 hours using just two AA batteries and conserves battery life by entering a sleep mode if it is unused for more than five minutes.

"Xbox fans have been asking for a smaller, lighter controller that doesn't sacrifice quality or accuracy," said Fred Swan, director of marketing for Logitech's interactive entertainment business unit. "Our newest cordless controller meets these needs at a very attractive price. We believe this combination of affordability and performance will convert even more gamers to the fun and flexibility of cordless play."
