EA gives Harry Potter an EyeToy
Electronic Arts announces that the PS2 version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will feature a number of EyeToy minigames.
Electronic Arts today announced that the PlayStation 2 version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be the first third-party title to fully utilize EyeToy technology. The EyeToy won't be used in the main single-player game, but up to four players will be able to compete in four different Harry Potter-themed minigames. The four EyeToy minigames announced today are as follows:
Chocolate Frogs: Players clap their hands together to catch chocolate frogs and to make a nice, chocolaty mess.
Exploding Snap: Players have to match their cards with the snap card to create explosions and to increase their scores. Chains of correct matches together produce even bigger explosions.
Seeker Practice: Players practice their Quidditch skills by attempting to catch the elusive golden snitch and avoiding bludgers.
Zonko's Joke Shop: Players have to explode dungbombs using frog spawn soap. Hiccough sweets cause the bombs to jump, while stink pellets slow them down.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is currently scheduled for release during the second quarter of this year.
