$20 Wii greatest hits, $150 Mario Kart bundle confirmed
[UPDATE] Nintendo confirms "Nintendo Selects" series, new pack-in game for soon-to-be-cheaper console.

What we heard: Rumors of a $150 Wii have been around for several weeks now, with initial reports having the price drop scheduled for May 15. However, this week the speculation took a new twist, when Kotaku reported that the new console would be bundled with Mario Kart Wii and its steering wheel peripheral. Currently, the now-$170 console comes with Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports.
Speaking of Wii Sports, the gaming blog also reported that the sports minigame compilation would soon be part of a line of budget-priced games called "Wii Selects." The line of games, which will cost only $20, will reportedly include Mario Super Sluggers, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
Late Tuesday, Nintendo World Report uncovered artwork (pictured) that appeared to confirm both sets of rumors. Several budget Wii games, actually called "Nintendo Selects," were shown, including Twilight Princess, Wii Sports, Super Sluggers, and Animal Crossing: City Folk. Box art of the new Wii bundles, which will be available in black or white, were also on display.
The official story: "Nintendo does not comment on rumors or speculation."--Nintendo rep.
Bogus or not bogus?: Looking not bogus, given the authentic-looking nature of the box art. So anyone looking to buy a Wii and some games in the near future might want to hold off until after the 15th.
[UPDATE] Nintendo today confirmed the rumors. The Nintendo Selects range will include the four above-noted games, and the Mario Kart Wii bundles will replace the current Wii Sports franchise bundles. Nintendo also confirmed that the new black Wii wheel--shipping with the black Wii--will be available separately for $10. All of the new products will be available on May 15.
