Neversoft welcomes Neil Young, Arch Enemy, Tesla, Anberlin, Queensryche, others to the music game family.
In the time since the original Guitar Hero exploded onto the video game scene almost five years ago, the music game has welcomed hundreds of artists to its virtual library. However, when Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock hits shelves September 28, it'll come with 11 artists who have never appeared in any of the franchise's many installments.
These artists (and the songs they're contributing to Warriors of Rock) are:
Anberlin - "The Feel Good Drag"
Arch Enemy - "Nemesis"
The Dillinger Escape Plan - "Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants"
John 5 - "Black Widow of La Porte"
Neil Young - "Rockin' in the Free World"
Orianthi - "Suffocated"
Queensryche - "Jet City Woman"
Red Rider - "Lunatic Fringe"
RX Bandits - "It's Only Another Parsec…"
Snot - "Deadfall"
Tesla - "Modern Day Cowboy"
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock boasts more than 90 on-disc tracks, as well as more than 500 songs for gamers to download from the Guitar Hero music store. Recently, an enthusiast gaming and music message forum got its hands on Warriors of Rock's alleged 93-song, complete tracklist.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is due out September 28 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's most recent impressions.
Heh, I think someone is going through all the posts and giving everyone thumbs down. Also, it seems you aren't allowed to like Arch Enemy.
John 5, Arch Enemy (one of their best song, it will be awesome in drum expert +), Queensryche and Dillinger : Damn good metal, it promimises challenge
@Infamous. really? there isnt enough metal here for you? Arch Enemy, A Perfect Circle, Children of Bodom, Dethklok, Metallica and Ozzy, Rammstein, Slayer, and Slipknot arent metal? those are just the bands that are already announced with like 60+ more songs let to be announced. thats not enough metal? thats like the most GH has ever put in a game.
Although I can understand people not knowing some or all of the bands, I hate to read stuff like "Neil Young is the only good on that list" without even any kind of explanation. So let me tell everyone that even though, for example, John 5's music may sound extremely weird at times, he is a GREAT guitarist and that that song of his, by the way, is hard as hell and will certainly be a challenge :) Isn't it all about fun and good music? Don't complain, the game's setlist is actually very good, even if you don't agree for some reason :p
Oh hell yes, I love me some Arch Enemy. Would've liked something from Wages of Sin or Rise of the Tyrant, but "Nemesis" is good nonetheless. Also, Dillinger is going to be a hell of a track to play through.
I am a recovering plastic instrument addict. Snot being on here is totally sick but I just can't relapse, sorry Activision.
I wish they'd just go back and make a game like Guitar Hero 3. Was it completely over-charted? Yes, it was, but thats what made the game so much fun. Now that they're trying to compete with Rock Band for realism, perfectly charted songs and the whole band experience, they're losing. Forget the full band experience, give us some more Guitar Hero 3 style gameplay!
Guitar hero would have to make a GH: Indie, post-hardcore, metal, experimental, progressive rock version before i even think about buying another one of their games. the setlist just seems soo random all the time. they pick the worst songs from some great bands and often times just pick the worst songs from bad bands. how about you do what rockband does and try and give us the songs we like. i don't play your $100+ game to find "NEW" music to listen to. i buy it so i can have fun with songs i know and love already from bands i know and love. if i wanna find new music i will go to purevolume.com and hit random artist for FREE. then download the music online, for FREE. Then just learn it on guitar for real, for FREE.
Anberlin is the only one worthwhile here, maybe orianthi but only because she is absolutely sick at guitar. GH just can't get it right with their song list.
@Ozzie23 I'm a really peacfull guy but how you expect me reposed when people send me PMs like this. This PM is from Ozzie23: @Dan21278 Are you as gay as you avatar looks? Just wondering. Most of your posts are gay anyway. No wonder you stick to Rock Band and ps3 lol How can you assume things about another person you don't even know? Since I have class and since I have a life I'm not going to even respond to such an idiotic comment. I don't sit at home and hide behind a user-name and insult people. I don't see the point of fighting on the internet with someone as ignorant as him. I just wanted to tell you what he been doing to me. And I've grown tired of the constant harassment. Thank you for reading.
Forgive me for being ignorant, but what are the differences between guitar hero games besides the songs that come on the disc? I mean, you can use downloaded tracks on any version right? So how do they justify pricing it as a whole new game?
you've never heard rockin in the free world? its one of the most overplayed songs in the history of reality?
Too bad only 4 or those 11 are worth mentioning, still, this is going to be the best Guitar Hero yet, unless they find a way to remake Rocks the 80's.
