New Super Mario Bros Wii is a must buy and is one of the best Wii games.

Mario is a famous video game character that has been around for several decades. He has starred in a series of his own video games, including platformers, racing, sports, and party. This time he returns in a remake, or Wiimake, of the New Super Mario Bros DS and of course the classic original three Super Mario Bros. I bought this game for 50 bucks and it was worth the money and time. I see no need for improvement in this game whatsoever. From gameplay to graphics to sound, this game is perfectly polished. Except maybe the story. The story has not changed since the classic original three Super Mario Bros or the New Super Mario Bros DS. You are once again trying to rescue Princess Peach from being locked in Bowser's castle. That's it. This does not bother me and I personally do not care, but other gamers who are a huge fan of Mario will find this to be a serious letdown and a total disappointment.

Gameplay includes the all the original classic moves and features. You jump on goomba heads and koopa shells, hit blocks for coins and mushrooms, dodge spikes thrown by lakitu clouds, dodge hammers thrown by turtles, ride yoshis and eat enemies with its tongue, use flower power to shoot fire and flames at enemies, and more. Gameplay is fun, entertaining, enjoyable, and nostalgic. Gameplay remains the exact same as New Super Mario Bros DS, but of course with different looking worlds. If you have never played the DS version, the gameplay mechanics and elements of the Wii version are the exact same concept of the classic original three Super Mario Bros games, but this one has much better graphics and much better level design, and it looks more colorful, neat, and planned out. Graphics are truly astonishing. The colors and visuals are very bright and enticing and make the game stand out, and they are what you would expect them to look like on the Wii. They look like an updated version of the newer generation of Mario. Music is awesome. It is memorable, soothing and pleasing to the ears, and encourages you to play on no matter how difficult the game gets. I know the main music is ported from the DS, but I don't remember about the other music.

There is a multiplayer mode where you can have up to four players on screen at the same time. I have never tried this out before, but I saw video clips of it, and I think it is a cool new edition to the game. You can jump on your opponents to squash them or you can pick them up and throw them at objects and use them to bounce off springboards and other stuff. I am not so sure if this would be fun, because well throwing your opponents and jumping off of them and squishing them can be madness, a mess, and all over the place, and it might be hard for everyone to control themselves. But I have never played before so I can't give my personal opinion. I am giving a guess based on what I think it would be like. It might not be like that. It might be a blast and very fun, and it might be easy for everyone to control themselves. I know you can let your opponents finish the level for you if you think it is too hard, and that's great. So ya leave me out of that one, because I have no idea what it's like to play.

The only thing that keeps this game from getting a perfect 10 is its insane, brutal difficulty. This is worded directly from my Donkey Kong Country Returns review. This game is not relaxing or chill. It really tests your skills, reflexes, patience, and diligence. The difficulty becomes too hard after world 1, and you will become so frustrated and steamed in so many levels to the point where you will want to throw your wii remote against the wall, hit your head in your hands, yell and scream in a pillow, or swear loudly because you just can't contain yourself. This game will make your forehead sweat and your heart beat fast. Checkpoints come too long into a level, and you will have to replay the same part over and over again that you have already past until you get past the hard part that was after that. Or even worse, you will lose all balloons, get a game over, and have to restart the whole level. This can take forever to beat it because of its cruel, harsh difficulty. Now, it's hard to say whether New Super Mario Bros Wii is harder because of its small character and small background environments, or if Donkey Kong Country Returns is harder because of its big character and big background environments. I also don't know if this is harder than Super Mario Bros 3 or if Super Mario Bros 3 is harder than this. These are both indeed very questionable and leave me wondering in curiosity.

New Super Mario Bros Wii is very high in nostalgia. It brings players back to the past to relive the good old days and times of video games. It reminds you what your childhood should be like growing up as a kid. But if you are a new or casual gamer, I wouldn't recommend this game to you because you may find it to be too hard. But if you are a hardcore gamer who is looking for a sweaty, brutal challenge, then I definitely recommend this game to you. Nintendo did a splendid job of development and pulling it off, and it turned out to be a wonderful, popular product that sold over a million copies within only the first month of its release. Nintendo deserves to be given credit by going out, picking up this game off the shelves, and buying the game.
