Well, Yoshi is almost non-existent in the game. Don't get the game if you want to play with Yoshi. Its a horrible marketing by Nintendo by lying to their fans. The cute dinosaur is in about a level for each world except the last. He is mostly to obtain the coins.

The game is rated by getting five stars. One is for passing the game and well you can imagine. Coins can be used to see other levels. Recommend to save coins for the end. Some of the secrets are just plain hard to get. All the hard secrets are shown in the videos. Getting coins gives it the hardcore feeling like the NES games. Beginners will not get all coins but the hardcore will.

Difficulty is like the SNES times. The game is not brutal difficult but has some thinking. Its not that hard, just the right amount of thinking. Infinite power ups and lives are given. Coins are used to buy power ups but can save Toads to get mushrooms. All the amount of power ups are given in the level. Just makes the game not too hard. Mario fans should not have trouble with this as many of the levels are flash backs to older games. Mario fans should now this. REASON I GAVE IT A 8.5

Multi player. Haven't played it but I have heard its good. Single player should be enough for most people. But it must be very good for the game to have sold over 20 million copies. What an amazing profit revenue for Nintendo. 800 million and more coming for Ninty revenue.
