Because I think of how the Kaizo Mario players probably tore it apart with ease. Also, starting over from the beginning every time I die reminds me of the Wily's Castle levels in Megaman games which do that to you every time you turn the game off (even though Megaman 8 let's you save in between levels).

That, and this pack is slowly making me detest Lakitus.

Starting over is probably the one feature that hurts that pack the most, especially since there's no option to practice individually.

This. I haven't played this pack but giving players one life to beat 3 extremely hard levels seems a little unfair. The point of hard levels is you practice them over and over and it's really hard to do so with only one life...

Dude thats wat gives it more challenge and makes u even better. The fact u have to master each level b4 u can go to the next and practice it is a fun challenge. And the fact u only get one chance makes it so each time u get to it u have to do it best

It is fake difficulty and it's not fun. It is okay if you choose to do them in order as a challenge for yourself. It is not okay however to force the player to do that everytime.

You might just as well hammer your head into the wall for half an hour before doing a certain level. That would most probably increase the challenge as well but would you want to do that?

I don't disagree with the fake difficulty comments (though the individual levels come off to me as genuinely hard) but I'm confused.

Wasn't it a common complaint that his game gave you far too many lives? Are people now fine with not getting game overs as often and therefore not starting from all the way back before they they beat the castle/fortress?

These levels arent even for the Main Game,so that complaint doesnt even apply here.

No. Lives are not difficulty. Difficulty is difficulty. The main reason these levels are hard is because you are forced to do them strung together, which is more stressful and annoying than fun and generally considered a cheap way to make something seem hard without it actually being hard. People want challenging level design that can stand as difficult individually. If Nintendo feels this is really difficult, and relatively it is, they should give people the chance to see that.

There's a reason SMG2 gives you Grandmaster Galaxy, and THEN the Perfect Run. GMG is a relatively tough level that acts as a nice final exam. The PR is a bonus challenge that is meant to be done AFTER you practice each section of the level individually. See how that works? They give you the chance to practice, THEN they let you try to string it all together if you want.

For the record, I feel that lives themselves are totally obsolete, so I'm just fine with having a stupidly enormous amount of them.

Okay. That makes perfect sense. I guess a better comparison would have been the Bowser X battle in BiS because the game forces you to fight every other boss without rest until you get up to him. Then again, that whole sequence could be considered a boss rush with an extra boss at the end.

So far I'm having trouble legitimately beating the first of the levels in the Danger pack, but I know I'll lose patience once I have to keep doing it over in order to practice on the second level.

    If it's hard?

And no, you clearly don't understand how design works. According to you, having lightning randomly kill the player with no warning and no way to defend against it is okay.

Yes, ans sorry for the typo.

Apparently you don't understand randomness. There is nothing random about this... You get one in 3 tricky lvls. It's a challenge and a difficult one. No more to be said.

If it's that hard, then it should be hard individually. And it really isn't that hard. Relatively to the main game it is, but then so are a lot of things.

I could slap every level from Galaxy together and tell you if you die once you have to start over. Nothing about that actually makes the levels harder though.

But it makes the overall CHALLENGE harder.

Well, it is called "*Impossible* Pack" for a reason. It's supposed to be impossible, or at least as close as can be to it without it being outright unwinnable.

Frankly I'm surprised they put checkpoint flags in the levels.

Aw will you kids stop whining about this impossible pack being "hard". Go play a REAL Mario game, specifically Mario Bros. 1 or 2 (especially 2), then get back to me. It will truly make men out of you.

This crap is a pathetic attempt at Kaizo Mario and giving fans something somewhat challenging about stale Mario since his glory days on the NES and SNES.

Are you guys really whining about it being too hard and not being able to practice? Have you played any NES game ever? They even let you play through it with the white raccoon suit. You need more practice than that? What a bunch of wieners.
