This is the first time I have played a Pikmin game and it definitely lived up to the hype.

Back when the Nintendo Gamecube was out, one of the most popular game's out for it was Pikmin, for some strange reason I had never heard of it, but one day one of my friends brought it over, and played it, it looked awesome, for some reason though, I
didn't really get to play it that day, sometime later that friend of mine ended up moving far away from me and I still had not ended up playing it. So I kind of forgot about it, many years later(or the present if you will) I heard that Pikmin 2 would be coming to the Nintendo Wii, so I figured it would be a perfect time to buy the first one and then get the second one, which is exactly what I ended up doing.

So let's talk about the actual game now, First off the concept of the game and everything in the game just astounds me, I don't know how they thought up all of this stuff in the game, but for me I just think it's really interesting and it makes for a fun new way of gaming. So you got three groups of Pikmin on this one, Blue, Red, and yellow. Both have some certain special ability, each are very very helpful, basically the point of this game is to find all 30 pieces of your ship that have fallen in different area's from the start of the game, with the help of your Pikmin. So lets start with the controls, there not horrible but they could be better, they take some time to get used to but once you do they are pretty decent, one thing I wish they did with the game though, is make a formation button, so that when you are crossing a small bridge with a lot of Pikmin, none of them fall in the water, I realize you can use the d pad on the Wii remote to make somewhat of a formation, but I think it would just be simpler if you could press a button, and they would all line up straight, hopefully they made something like that in Pikmin 2 because it is so annoying walking with your Pikmin and all of a sudden a bunch of Pikmin get stuck on a wall, also whats up with all the Pikmin that just fall randomly, whats the point of it, they just slow you down, it's just annoying but other then that there really isn't much to complain about. Each area was made well I think they put a lot of effort into them, while there are only 5 levels, they are well designed and there is always something special about them. I'm hoping for more levels in Pikmin 2 though. This is just a really fun game I really enjoyed it, there is definitely some replay value in this game, I would definitely play it again, and it definitely left a lasting impression on me, I wanted to talk about the ending also I was a little disappointed with it, there was really nothing special about it, I wish they would of made some attempt at a better ending, but instead it's not much of an ending at all.

Overall this is a really fun game, if you are a Nintendo fan you'll like this game, if you aren't you might I don't know, It's worth trying. This was definitly one of the highlights of the Gamecube.
