Neverwinter Nights: Diamond User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Solid"
Every role play game is essentially a derivative and diluted version of
Dungeons and Dragons. They all have the base system but generally they
spin off in their own direction to make it more "interesting" for the modern gamer. Yes, it's been made loud and clear that the so called modern gamer prefers other games of this time period to be either Balders Gate or Icewind Dale...both of which were labeled "modified" or "real time combat" rendition of D&D version 2.
It's like when an American visits Italy, and finally gets to sink their teeth into an "authentic" Italian pizza.....and hate it, so they go back to Pizza Hut.
But gee, don't you know.....that WAS the real deal.
You remember in the movie E.T. when the boys are sitting around the
kitchen table playing.........TUNNELS AND TROLLS...that's right! Not D&D because they are dead serious about not wanting misrepresentation or any "twists" on their rules just to make it interesting for the American's visiting Italy.
I cannot stress enough that being granted the privilege to affixing the D&D logo to your software is highly coveted, and so rare it's almost non-existant. That alone is worth this score....A for effort and for keeping tradition.

A game worth buying and not to be missed, Neverwinter Nights is a classic, and every game owner should get it.

NWN was the best PC RPG experience of its time, and the Diamond Edition offers up the full package at a great value.
