I was never really into DnD, but who cares...I still love this game.

Neverwinter Nights (all expansions) has been one of my favorite rpg of all time. It's the top out there (at least for me). I mean sure there are games such as Oblivion, Diablo, Titans Quest, Gothic etc.. (and they're all really great games), but something about Neverwinter just keeps bringing me back. I've never been interested in DnD. Maybe it's because I was never really introduced to it, but regardless of that, Neverwinter has somehow made me interested in it.

I've been playing this game for about 3 years now. No, not 3 years non-stop, but every once in a while I would play Neverwinter. Of course when I first got it, I would play it for almost non-stop (online with friends, Lan with siblings), but then it died down for a bit. With the many different modules that I started to check out, my interest suddenly peaked again and I was playing non-stop again :D
I still play the game today, and when I say today, I mean November 17, 2007. Just played it a few days ago. I don't play it a lot nowadays but on occasion, I still do.

Neverwinter nights (the original game and the expansion by itself) is pretty good as it is. The online component will keep you for a while, if you can find good people to play with. Then there are the modules (user created stories) that you can download and play. There are a lot of good ones out there. Much better than the campaigns that came with the game. There are a lot of creative and gifted people out there. Finally there are the persistent worlds (sort of like the worlds in MMORPGs you see everywhere) and the ones I've played are really great and fun with friendly people. An overall friendly community that has helped me for the times I've played this game.

Anyway, I'm not much of a writer so I just like listing the goods and bads of the game and my reasons, so let's get down to that.

Pros:
- Great stories ( I recommend getting those player-made modules seeing as they offer much more than the original campaigns, not that those campaigns were bad at all)
- Character customization ( With the right tools/mods, you can actually customize a lot of things about your characters from their looks( not that much), their equipment, spells, class, stats and well...a lot of things)
- Fun gameplay (The game was fun...uh yea :D )
- Quests ( Lot of fun quests to do and since there are lot of different modules out there, there's a variety of quests that you can do. Some are also quite clever.)
- Lots of content (again, player-mods...thank god)
- Tool Set (It's because of this that we can do practically anything with neverwinter)
- Fun/Great Multiplayer (If you find the right people, then you're good to go :D)
- Great community (Don't know if it matters to you, but it does to me. A lot of people are willing to help and for those who like making/modding, there are those who are willing to offer constructive input. A very friendly community.)

Cons:
- Graphics (It's okay. I can stand it, but me standing it and accepting it doesn't mean that it looks good either.)
- Sound (Same thing as the graphics. I can stand it but it's still not good)
- Without the custom content then it's no longer great...just good

So that's basically it. I don't know if you'll like it when you play it. Some people don't like this game . I don't know why. People just have different tastes and it's all good. This is my review and I like this game so there :D
If you are an RPG fan and you haven't tried this yet then go get this game, it's cheap nowadays so it shouldn't be problem and with all those player-mods you'll get a lot more out of your money. I certainly did. Cheers! : )
