Despite a boring combat system, and technical flaws, this is a very solid game.

Despite the technical flaws, this game is a great game for any PC gamer.

The one feature that stands out with Neverwinter Nights 2 is the storyline. You will find that the storyline is very immerse, and deep, and you will dictate what happens in the storyline, such as choosing what your character says when interacting with other characters. What you do with your character is totally up to you, which I think is great feature, because it allows a lot of flexibility within the story. What I love about the storyline is the twists, at one point of the story, you will think the its over, and you have won, but then a twist comes up and you end up into some type of trouble, or something horrible has happened. If your a gamer who loves a great storyline, then you would enjoy this incredible story that takes place within Never winter.

At the beginning of the game, you will create your character, there is a variety of races to choose from, such as Elfs, or Humans. Since I loved R.A. Salvatore's character Drizzt, I tried to create an exact replica of Drizzt, so I chose Drow, and chose the hair style, color of his skin, the deity that fits his personality, basically everything that Drizzt represents. After that you will start the actual game in the main characters home town, and your first quest begins. The first quests will help you get comfortable with the games controls, combat, use of items, and interactions with other characters.

As you level up your character, you will gain points to add towards your character attributes, depending on the type of character you have like a Rogue or a Fighter, the attributes will be allocated differently, like for a fighter, you would allocate the points towards strength, whereas for the Rogues towards dexterity, it also depends on the type of weapon you have, so its very important to spend your points wisely.
When you level up, you can also allocate points towards weapon making, or charisma, and you can chose new skills such as short sword mastery, or if your a wizard, you can choose new spells. Depending on what kind of character you have can dictate how often you character levels up, but all characters in your party level up at the same time, but differently.
In my case, I had a Drow, and they level up slower than other types. I had a Rogue in my party, and when she, and my character leveled up, she would be a level 5 Rogue, and I would be a level below her as a fighter. In my case, for every two levels, my character learned new skills. It varies depending on your characters race. The level cap is 20 in the original game, but it doesn't exactly stop at level 20, for example, if I was a level 20 fighter, I could chose a secondary fighting type, depending on the attributes. If you put a lot of points towards mastering a Longsword, you could be a Weapons Master as a secondary, and level up as a Weapons Master, along with this, your character has a different set of skill types and the characters stats are much better, such as attack points, and hit points.

One of the negative flaws I experienced in this game is the combat system, in my opinion, I thought it was boring, and repetitive. Its very similar to Runescape, you click on the enemy, and you character starts attacking, and your character will attack within its turn. On the screen you will see a bar with a small sword like icon, and it fills up, when it fills up, you character attacks, so basically you click on the character, and it continues to attack until the enemy is dead. If you have two weapons equipped, such as a Scimitar as your main weapon, and a short sword as your secondary weapon (or off hand) your character will attack with his main weapon, then while the bar is filling up for your next turn, your character will attack with its secondary weapon (or off hand), then when the bar is filled up, it will attack with its main weapon, and so on. Basically your just sitting there waiting while your character is battling. I thought Obsidian made a mistake on the combat system.

Since I'm on the subject of flaws, I'll rant on another flaw. The technical glitches. It's very irritating nonetheless, and some of the glitches will not allow you to advance in the game or wont allow you to do things you want to do, in my case, I couldn't travel to another town because the game would freeze on the loading screen, so I couldn't meet this other character I wanted to interact with, preventing me to do something I wished to do. So it irritated the heck out of me, and made me frustrated. This wasn't the only glitch, there were tons of glitches, such as graphical glitches, for example, when the game loads up, your character will be missing limbs, and the area would be blank, forcing you to uninstall you game to fix it. Obviously Obsidian didn't do a good job polishing this game.

As an RPG game, it will have your basic weapons, and alchemy items. If you have a fire type sword, it will have flames surrounding the sword, and deal fire type damage, the same goes for cold, lightning, ect... and this applies with the bow and arrow, so expect the basic elements of an RPG game.
The one feature that sets itself from other RPG games is that you can create weapons, and armor. If you have the required items, you can create different types of weapon/alchemy with different stats, and depending on your character stats, how successful you are at creating these items. The higher the level you are, the better.

The graphics are pretty average, not flashy, but not bad. Its good enough to where you can see the details of the area, your character, and other aspects. If you have a high end PC, the graphics are obviously good, but like I said, don't expect Crysis type graphics. I ran this game on medium settings with my laptop and it was pretty good, I have a ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card, 2.10 ghz AMD Turion X2 Dual Core processor, and 3 GB of ram, this game can require a high end PC to run at the highest settings.

The games interface is pretty basic, as is with the controls, any gamer can play this game, it just takes more knowledge than usual for character customization, and such.

Despite the boring combat, and the technical glitches, Neverwinter Nights 2 is a solid game, and I would recommend this game to any gamer interested in a game with an engaging storyline, and addictive game play.
